My coaching approach
In all my work, I bring a no-nonsense approach – a blend of coaching, mindfulness, and positive psychology – that cuts through theoretical complexity, enabling you to access deeper resources of clarity, wellbeing and resolve.
I never tell you what to do. Instead, I create a fertile, reflective space – by giving you my wholehearted attention – where you can fully appreciate who you really are, and what you most want. Through deep listening and intelligent questioning, I help you access the clarity and resolve you need to make the changes, choices and decisions that enhance your quality of life and work.
I don’t use ‘off-the-shelf’ models of change as they often get in the way of the most valuable personal insights and discoveries. The only ‘model’ I use is the one you bring: how you see and understand yourself, and the world around you.
My clients tell me that I combine sensitive understanding with rigorous challenge and supportive championing. I also use lots of humour and playfulness to lighten things up, as personal development work can easily become way too heavy and dry. I’ve seen many times how this can really help cut through to the insights and determination people most need to progress in their lives and work.
As a highly experienced mindfulness trainer and author of ‘The ABC Guide to Mindfulness’ I also offer to use neuroscience-based exercises and approaches that can help you get the most from your innate powerful resources. By integrating coaching and mindfulness techniques, I have a distinctive style that pays attention to the full spectrum of my clients’ experience – including head, heart and gut.
My background
Before working as a coach and trainer, I worked in communications and project management roles. I felt called to interpersonal work having been through a long process of personal and professional development as a result of my own past struggles to feel good about myself and to find meaning and direction in life. As a member of the human race, this is always work in progress!
Outside working life, I love varied creative pursuits: most recently, comedy writing and performing, and I’m currently experimenting in bringing together these two worlds of personal development and comedy. At various times I’ve also enjoyed creative writing, drawing & painting, music, and filmmaking. To find out more, go to www.timsegaller.co.uk
